Reduction of International Dues

Many years ago, our local filed for a reduction of International Dues, per article 12 of the Constitution. Currently, International Dues are $24.50 whereas Local 161 members pay only $13.50 per month. (These amounts do not include payments for disability insurance or Local Dues)

Article 12 was amended at the Eleventh Quaddrennial Convention, calling for "Approved Reductions" to be subject to "review on an annual basis". We have been directed to submit a written request for continued Reduction of Dues for review of the Board of Trustees. It is our sincere hope the Board will decide in favor of extending our Reductions of Dues Standing.

Pursuant the Amended Article, a letter has been drafted for submission to the General Secretary-Treasurer for review by the Board of Trustees. We should know the outcome of their determination sometime Mid November. I will continue to express our desire for extension, though for the most part, it is out of our hands. Stay tuned.
