CSA 2010 has come to Seattle. Recently, and article on King 5 News detailed a weekend review of motor-coaches inspected at the remote lot at Sea-Tac Airport. Thankfully, our company was not named in the inspections, though it is rumored that one or more of our drivers may have received "points" during this inspection. While it is currently not clear to me, or the troopers/inspectors I've spoken too exactly how the points system will ultimately work, there is provision in the bill for your CDL status to be suspended should you exceed a points threshold.

It is of the utmost importance that all pre-trips are conducted thoroughly, and defects noted, and coaches refused should any safety defects exist. It cannot be stressed hard enough, that under these new guidelines, the DRIVER can and will be held accountable for vehicle defects, AS WELL AS defects in his/her maintenance of records (VIR's, Log's, etc.) and performance of duty (i.e. traffic violations) so you must be at the top of your game at all times.
