Brothers and Sisters,

Due to the Machinist Strike, our meeting space at the Machinist Lodge is unavailable for our scheduled meetings. This came as a surprise to me, as our meetings were not disrupted by their last labor action. Due to short notice, the September meeting is canceled. I accept full responsibility for not having a contingent plan.

It is uncertain how long this action will last, therefore we will secure an alternate location for October. Watch for postings detailing location and possible time changes for October meeting.

Some business deadlines remain that must be handled. Pursuant motion passed at July's meeting, committees for contract clean-up - including economic factors affecting contract, and safety and compliance, are to be set up. Look for announcements here and on our bulletin board this week.

Through electronic correspondence, we have quorum approval for all bills related to the picnic to be paid. Brother Gregg will, if he has not already, be cutting and distributing checks according to receipts received. For all involved, thank you for your participation in a wonderful event.
