UTU Local 161 Membership
Dues
Gray Line of
Seattle management has again decided to stop the automatic payroll dues deductions
for members of UTU Local 161. With 24
hours advance warning, Gray Line management advised one day before the end of
the January 22, 2004 payroll cut off that they would no longer deduct dues as
had been the mutual agreement in our current contract. No dues were deducted from full-time members’
last paycheck. Therefore members will
again pay their monthly dues directly to UTU Local 161 to maintain good
standing.
For full time
members, only ˝, or $16.75 of the February dues has been deducted from payroll
and sent to UTU Local 161. So, $16.75 is needed to complete February’s dues and
$33.50 for March or $50.25, which is due by the end of February. Monthly dues for the next month will be due
by the last day of the current month.
This means that April dues are due by the last of March, May’s by the
end of April, and so on. Dues shall be
remitted to the Secretary-Treasurer of Local 161 in the form of bank check or
money order, payable to “UTU Local 161.”
.

As is always the case, dues are to be
submitted in advance for a given month.
In the short term as this procedure develops dues may be hand delivered
to a Union Officer whose name appears on the UTU Bulletin Board in the drivers’
room.

As was the case three years ago, members
will demonstrate that they can overcome this inconvenience and will keep their
dues current to maintain their good standing in UTU Local 161.
Fraternally,
Wayne Ingersoll
Secretary-Treasurer
UTU Local 161 RWI020904
