Brothers and Sisters

It has been brought to my attention that some of you are being asked or urged to work/continue to work when you have no business being at work.  As most of you know, dispatchers will pull your heart strings in any way possible to get assignments filled. If you are ill or fatigued, as described by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, you are bound by law to notify the carrier and remove yourself immediately, except in cases where passengers or cargo would be placed in further danger. In this event, you are to drive to the first available location that will alleviate the hazard and remove yourself from the seat.

Do not perform work for this Company, or any carrier, if you are unsafe/unfit to do so. The law clearly places the burden upon you, the employee, to notify the Company if you are ill or fatigued to the point of being unsafe to operate a CMV. The Company is not in violation of any law if you fail to inform them of your condition.
