Review all notices with careful scrutiny.
For a company that once boasted about being the largest operator in the Pacific Northwest, we are still a small business. We still do business just as it was when the fleet was only thirty coaches. Each department creates paper, delivering it to other departments by hand. This works only as long as the parties involved do not get sidetracked before delivery.
Our computer systems are outdated, made worse because they don't communicate with each other. Rumors circulated some time ago of a new system to remedy our problems, an actual new computer system, not a hand-me-down from Holland America "adjusted" to suit our needs. Modifications were made to the building and rumors continue to say "it's coming." On January 7th, and again on the 10th, I asked the company for explanation or information on their "Plan" to resolve these issues so this article could be more informative and less biased. For whatever reason, I have yet to hear from them. I spoke with Mollie Jones the morning of January 10th, and without saying as much, she indicated there was no remedy in the foreseeable future.
I raised these concerns because I have recently experienced the results. Two notices were issued to me pertaining to paperwork I allegedly failed to turn in. Charter Billing consulted with dispatch sheets that showed a CBO for work the Charter Department (Dale Paulson) knew did not exist, and dispatch (Doreen Harris) knew did not exist. I became concerned our customer might be billed for services not rendered and that I could receive disciplinary action resulting from the memos. I was comforted to hear from Ms. Jones that these notices do not land in your file UNLESS you are a "repeat offender." I guess we need to know what constitutes a "repeat offender" in order to know whose files actually receive these notices.
As long as the Company operates without a common network keeping each department apprised of each others activities, this recipe for failure continues. For all the grief this causes the Company, for all the money lost to duplicity of function, I'm dumbstruck this situation remains. To their credit, these shortcomings will play a significant part in Chairman Bentley's arbitration and eventual re-instatement.
